Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage differs from traditional massage in a few different ways. Massage techniques and positioning are tailored through the stages of your pregnancy to help ensure comfort, safety, relaxation and the well-being of you and your baby. A Pregnancy Massage can help to relieve minor ailments associated with pregnancy.

Positioning is either lying on your side on a treatment couch and being cushioned with pillows under your head, between your legs or under your tummy. Alternatively, if you require your bump or face to be massaged you will gently turn over onto your back where you will be positioned in a semi-reclining position (only for a limited time due to the weight of the baby) on the couch, supported with cushions. There is no set routine as the massage is changed and adapted to fit the specific requirements on the day of your massage, catering for what you want and need when you come to see me. A regular massage throughout your pregnancy supports your overall health and the well-being of you and your baby.

Baby benefits through increased circulation, nutrients and endorphin’s.

Treatment should be booked from your first trimester.

I only use Cruelty Free, Paraben Free, Vegan Friendly, 100% natural carrier and pure essential aromatherapy oils within my massage treatments.

Many of my clients experience a variety of benefits from having a pregnancy massage that have included:

  • Released muscular tension and reduced swelling in hands and feet.
  • Improved circulation and sleep.
  • Increased mobility and flexibility.
  • Relaxation and induced a calmer state of mind.
  • Aided the function of the digestive system.
  • The immune system was strengthened to help prepare the body physically, mentally and emotionally for the birth.

Post-natal Pregnancy Massage:

Post-natal massage can help ease the stresses on the body. It helps to restore the body back to its pre-pregnancy condition. It is extremely important when you are exhausted (due to broken sleep) to give yourself some relaxation time, which can boost your energy levels and reduce feelings of stress. It can help to ease aches and pains from carrying your baby. It can eliminate excess body fluids and reduce fluid retention. It can also restore and normalise abdominal structures. It is important that you take care of yourself as well as your baby in the months following childbirth.
